DATE CHANGE: Hornet's RFC AGM scheduled for Monday, March 1 @ 6:00pm at the Calgary Rugby Union
The Calgary Hornet's RFC AGM is scheduled for Monday, March 1 at 6pm. All members are welcome to attend. You must be over the age of sixteen and in good standing with the club to cast a vote.

Join the Hornet's Executive as they talk about the past year and some exciting things that are upcoming for 2010. More information to come.

Following will be an Open House/ Social for new members looking to play both junior and senior rugby. Registration and kit samples will be available at this time as well.

New Director of Rugby, Greame Moffat to arrive April 10th
On behalf of the Hornet's Executive, I am pleased to announce that Greame Moffat (Moff) will be taking the position of Director of Rugby for the club. Moff comes to the Hornets with a strong coaching a development background through clubs in both Scotland and Canada, taking on a similar role with the Titans RFC in 2005.

Moff's role as the Director of Rugby will be to work with all facets of the club, including both junior and senior teams and coaches, including acting as the Men's Div 1 Head Coach.

Moff will be arriving on April 10th. Please join me in welcoming him to the Hornets!

Message from the new Director of Rugby:

I am excited about the challenge that the Director of Rugby role brings with it. I am very excited to lead the club forward; not only the Men's 1st Div, but assisting in the development of all the teams and coaches. The Hornets have a great reputation and I view it as one of the leading clubs in the province. I have a vision of where I would like to lead the club to and I look forward to sharing it with all the members.

My goal is to be a professional coach and this gives me the opportunity to work towards that. I believe myself to be hard working, enthusiastic and innovative in my approach. I want consistency in the way teams play right through the club. If we get this, work hard and enjoy what we do, I believe we will be successful this season.

Get your butt off the couch! Boxing is back starting Thursday Feb 11 @ 7pm

Boxing cross-training sessions are happening again this year on Thursdays @ 7pm with Louie at Impact Boxing. For
those of you who have not been out before, this is an EXCELLENT workout and a great way to get into shape for the upcoming season!

Sessions are open to everyone. You do not have to be a rugby player to come out, so bring your friends!

Session are $10/ each. You must pay for five sessions upfront (cash). There is some paperwork that needs to be done, so please come at least 15 minutes early for your first session.

If you are under the age of 18, you must have a waiver signed by a parent/ gaurdian.

Congratulations to Hornet's Robbie Anderson on being selected for U17 Canada!
Robbie will be heading down to Santa Barbara, California to play select USA 15's teams in late December, playing flank/8man for Canada. We look forward to the many things to come for this great young player.
