The Hornets AC Men make it offical - 4 Provincial Titles to finish season
We filled up the bus with fans and came out to cheer our Division 1 AC Men's squad as they faced St.Albert for the provincial title. With amazing power in the pack and speed in the back, the Hornets secured the win - and the cup - at 31 Hornets to 13 St. Albert. Thank you to all the people who made the journey to Edmonton and all our amazing sponsors! We couldn't have done it without you.
U13s 7s program a huge success thanks to all the volunteers!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the U13's 7s this Fall. The program would not be the success it is without the countless hours put in by so many volunteers. Here are the highlights of why your work is so important.
Two more Provincial Championships for Hornets U19 Girls and U17 Boys!
Stepping on the field with true Black and Yellow pride, both the U19 Girls and U17 Boys pulled out wins that took home the cups on Saturday, Sept 10 in Red Deer. The U17 Boys played a devistatingly physical match against St.Albert with some outstanding runs from a number of the players. The U19 Girls faced the Sherwood Park Druids and tore up the field with their speed and skill, putting a significant number of points on the opposition. A special thank you to Head Coaches Mikey Stott (U17 Boys) and Kennett Moore (U19 Girls) and all the countless hours from a number of volunteers who helped with the teams.

Hornet's Alberta Women Premier (AWP) beat out Lethbridge for Provincial title!
In a tough game against Lethbridge on Aug 27, the Hornets senior women took home the first ever AWP Provincial title for the Hornets. The program, which started this year, has seen the growth and development of some fantastic female athletes. Congratulations to Hornet of the Match, Fly Half Tara Eckert, and all the players who put on Hornets AWP and SW1 jerseys for an outstanding performance in 2011. A special thank you to coaches Liam Hutchinson and Dion Roach for their dedication to this program.
Three Hornet's women set to start for Team Canada vs. South Africa, England and USA during Nations Cup
Congratulations to Hornet's Laura Stoughton, who will be pulling on Team Canada's #9 against South Africa on Tuesday, Aug 2 in Toronto. Backing her will be AWP Captain Maria Jaworski and Danielle Rowlands, both locking. Congrats ladies, we are so proud to have you as part of our team!!!
