HORNETS WOMEN'S RUGBY 2010
 
 
 
 

The Hornets Women's Rugby Team welcomes new players of all ages and abilities! This season the team is committed to competing at a high level and contesting for the 1st Division Provincial Championship.

Outdoor Practices
Lord Beaverbrook High School
Practices 2x/week starting end of March/ beginning of April depending on the weather, typically Mondays & Thursdays, 6:30pm.

Fitness
If you haven't yet started doing anything, it's time to do so! 

Fitness is key to being successful in rugby and we can't get everyone fit with only one or two sessions per week.  Please ensure you carry out your own fitness training in addition to these sessions.

Start slow if you need to with a 30 minute run, 2-3x week. 
At the end of your jog, do 5 30-50m sprints. 

If you are looking for a more intensive workout, check out the Fitness Program page for examples of programs that you can adapt to your fitness level.

Also, if you have access to a gym, some strengthening exercises would be of benefit
