Calgary Hornets RFC AGM 2025

The Calgary Hornets Rugby Football Club (RFC) is excited to announce its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2025. This isn’t just another meeting; it is a celebration of our journey as a club and a chance to shape our future together. It's where we discuss our challenges, celebrate our successes, and strengthen the bonds that bring us together as a community. In this blog post, we will explore what members can expect at the AGM, key highlights, and tips on how to prepare for this important gathering.

It will be held on Friday, November 14th from 7 - 10 pm at the Calgary Rugby Park.

Overview of the AGM

The AGM serves as an important platform for the Calgary Hornets RFC to evaluate the past year. It is a chance for members to share their opinions, propose new ideas, and engage with the club’s leadership. The meeting typically includes reports from the board, discussions on financial standing, and elections for new officers.

The 2025 AGM is particularly important as the club seeks to build on previous successes and tackle areas needing improvement. Members can look forward to a thorough performance review, including specifics about team dynamics, individual player development, and community outreach efforts.

Key Highlights to Anticipate

Financial Overview

One of the most vital parts of the AGM is the financial report. Members will get a detailed look at the club’s finances, including total income, expenses, and budget forecasts for the upcoming year. For instance, in 2024, the club reported a 15% increase in sponsorship income, and we expect similar growth this year.

Members will discuss key financial strategies such as upcoming fundraising campaigns and new sponsorship opportunities, ensuring transparency and accountability. This financial insight helps members understand the landscape we operate in and highlights both challenges and opportunities for the club's growth.

Team Performance Review

The AGM will also include a thorough review of the team's performance over the past season. Coaches and team captains will provide insights into player development, match results, and team dynamics. Last season, the Hornets achieved a remarkable 75% win rate, an impressive feat reflecting teamwork and dedication.

Members will be encouraged to ask questions and share feedback, promoting a collaborative environment. This exchange is crucial for fostering a strong team culture and enhancing performance year after year.

Election of New Officers

A significant highlight of the AGM is the election of new officers. Members will have the chance to vote for candidates who will guide the club in the coming year.

Candidates will share their visions for the club, and members are encouraged to engage in discussions regarding the Hornets' future. This is a vital opportunity for members to shape the club's direction and ensure it aligns with their values and hopes.
