Alberta Womens Premiere (AWP)
The Calgary Hornets Women’s Competitive Team is the top-tier team for women’s rugby in our club, and we are proud to be leaders in the Alberta Women’s Premiere rugby league. Our team is made up of skilled and dedicated athletes who are passionate about the sport and committed to performing at the highest level possible.
About the Team
Our Women’s Competitive Team is made up of players who are experienced in the game and have a strong desire to compete at the highest level possible. We compete in the Alberta Women’s Premiere rugby league, which is the highest level of women’s rugby in Alberta. Our team is dedicated to excellence in all aspects of the game, from fitness and conditioning to technical skills and strategic gameplay.
Training and Practices
Our team practices twice a week, with additional sessions for strength and conditioning, as well as film analysis and tactical review. Our coaches are experienced and knowledgeable, and they work closely with our players to help them develop and improve their skills.
In addition to regular practices, we also participate in team-building activities and social events to help foster team cohesion and build strong relationships among our players.
Competitions and Tournaments
As leaders in the Alberta Women’s Premiere rugby league, we compete against the best teams in the province. We also participate in tournaments and competitions throughout the year, both locally and nationally, to test our skills against the best teams in the country.
Our team is dedicated to achieving success on the field, but we also place a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play. We are proud to represent the Calgary Hornets and strive to be positive ambassadors for our club and for the sport of rugby.
