Meet Garrett! Aka: Sideshow

We're thrilled to announce that our safeguarding officer for 2026 is none other than the incredible Garrett Johnson! A proud Hornet since 2009, Garrett truly bleeds black and yellow. As a versatile utility player, he has represented all three divisions of men’s rugby, clinching several provincial championships along the way. Garrett is passionate about nurturing the next generation of rugby players, having coached ages U7 to U11 since 2010. His commitment to fostering a love for the sport in young Hornets is truly inspiring. He has not only held roles on the board, but he's also given back to the community as a dedicated sponsor, and he is now one of the club's newly inducted lifetime members. At training sessions (senior and junior) and the SARU, Garrett is a familiar face known for his big smile, listening ear, warm hugs, and unwavering encouragement. He has taken on the important role of ensuring our club remains a safe haven for all members, providing reassurance and support to anyone in need. When you need him, Garrett is always there, ready to lend a hand.
